This project was born out of the very early days of deep space exploration (early 3300), during the Age of Pioneers, when the first explorers began traveling far beyond human borders and out to the furthest reaches of the galaxy. EDSM has hosted the project ever since.Īlthough the community naming of locations collated within this project are not officially recognised by Frontier, they have on occasions used some of the names submitted by players to the GMP for certain points of interest, and implemented them into the game. ![]() ![]() Originally a labour of love for its founder during the first 16 months of its existence, the GMP maps and associated POI data collated up until that point, were migrated across to the EDSM platform, which launched on May 21st 2016.
